Cynthia Amaning Danquah is a Pharmacist by profession and a Senior Lecturer at the Kwame Nrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Ghana, her homeland.  It was her passion for research in the area of drug discovery that led her to pursue an MPhil. (Pharmacology) and she is currently pursuing her PhD at the UCL School of Pharmacy with Professor Simon Gibbons and Dr Sanjib Bhakta (Birkbeck, University of London) working on discovering novel molecules from plants with growth inhibition, drug efflux inhibition and biofilm formation inhibition using Mycobacterium aurum and Mycobacterium tuberculosis.

She is married to Daniel Amaning Danquah, Head of Education and Training Department of the Pharmacy Council, Ghana.  They have three sons, David, Michael and Martin. Cynthia likes cooking, singing and reading.
