I am currently the Principal Pharmacist, Antimicrobial Pharmacotherapy, NHS Ayrshire and Arran.

My current roles and responsibilities:
  • To provide strategic and clinical leadership associated with the provision of integrated pharmaceutical care to patients requiring antimicrobial treatment irrespective of care setting (includes hospital and community) ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and standards
  • To provide expert advice in all pharmaceutical matters relating to antimicrobial use
  • To represent NHS Ayrshire & Arran at a regional and national level and to actively participate in the wider strategic agenda for antimicrobial use
  • To supervise and teach clinical and pharmacy staff regarding antimicrobials
  • To monitor and provide expert advice, including horizon scanning, on antimicrobial usage and budgets
The post operates in all care settings in NHS Ayrshire & Arran including general hospitals, (wards and clinics), community hospitals, the Ayrshire Hospice and other community settings.
