Marie Curie Fellow, Cork, Ireland

I am a Marie Curie Research Fellow with a diversity of research interests ranging from the role of the intestinal microbiota in human health and disease to the genetics of host-parasite coevolution.

I am currently working on the microbial eukaryote – Blastocystis.  I am interested in understanding its prevalence, diversity and and functionality healthy human populations together with intestinal disease groups such as Irritable Bower Syndrome.  I am also interested in understanding if and how Blastocystis interacts with other components of the gut microbiota (especially bacteria).
