Jacqui Sneddon

Project Lead for Scottish Antimicrobial Prescribing Group, Glasgow, UK

I am an Antimicrobial Pharmacist working at national level to coordinate the stewardship programme across hospital and community settings in Scotland. I have a background in hospital pharmacy across a range of specialties including Aseptic Dispensing, Surgery and ICU. Through the work of our national NHS funded group, the Scottish Antimicrobial Prescribing Group, working with regional health boards and various professional groups we have developed and embedded stewardship in clinical practice. My particular areas of interest are quality improvement and education. I have led on development of quality indicators for antimicrobials, guidance to improve management of infections and education resources to support health and care staff. I am passionate about getting the message out to professionals and the public that we need to protect our antibiotics to preserve their effectiveness for future generations.
