Gina Studholme

Student, Leeds UK

My name is Gina Studholme and I am a second year Biochemistry student at the University of Leeds. I became aware of the antibiotic resistance crisis during AS level at Blackpool Sixth Form College and I was urged to find out more. I plan to help spread the word about the importance of Antibiotic Action, its aims and activities through interaction with my peers, grouping with other champions and social media. It gives me a great sense of achievement to support AA because, as stressed by the World Health Organisation, it is a serious global issue that will affect and is already affecting the whole world.
I am pursuing a career in research and development in the pharmaceutical industry because I wish to use my knowledge and experience of drug design in order to develop effective treatments for seemingly intractable diseases.
