Review on Antimicrobial Resistance proposes ways to drive development of new drugs

The Review on Antimicrobial Resistance, often referred to as the O’Neill Commission, was commissioned by the UK Prime Minister David Cameron and is chaired by esteemed economic Jim O’Neill. On May 14, 2015, the Review published their third report, titled, “Securing new drugs for future generations: The pipeline of antibiotics“. This report examines the need to boost the development of new antibiotic drugs, and proposes national and international strategies that will meet those needs, including reforms to the current economic models surrounding antibiotic development and sales.
